In recent weeks, we have determined that our 24-year-old ObitMessenger tool is no longer able to serve that goal effectively for all our users. On Thursday, August 31, the ObitMessenger alert service will be replaced with several new free tools you can use to find obituaries.

From now until August 31, you will be able to access and receive ObitMessenger emails free of charge. You will not be billed for the remainder of your service.

In order to continue regularly viewing the obituaries that matter to you, please use these new Legacy tools to search and sign up for alerts — all for free:

Get email updates from local communities — Select a state, then any city, town, or county, to receive new obituary alerts daily.

Get email updates from your high school or college — Select any school to receive alerts for alumni and teachers who have passed away.

Get email updates from local newspapers — Select a state, then choose from 1,200+ newspapers across the U.S. that offer Legacy alerts.

Use Legacy's new obituary search page — Specify exactly what you're looking for and see new obituaries immediately.

You can also subscribe to the Legacy.com newsletter to be the first to know when new site functionalities and notifications are available.
